Why I Write

Info

What’s the story behind your books?

All my books deal with the Christian faith. It deals with spiritual growth, therefore, discipleship. It deals with walking in the Truth of God, finding the true way of the eternal Kingdom of God, and breaking free from religion to walk in the liberty of the glorious indwelling presence of the Lord. It is about deliverance, victory, authenticity in faith and love.

When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was about 10.

What motivated you to become an indie author?

An indie author allows you to have a voice and to express your opinion and beliefs without being censored or curtailed in one’s expression.

All your books are about the Christian faith, so what is your central message?

Love God. It is not about religion, but about a relationship. In Him you will find your path, your journey, your meaning and purpose. Nothing else in this world will offer such understanding. Only God will make clear the true path that you must follow, for such a path will bring you joy, peace, love, and hope. It might not be a path that we expect, but it will be the right path, and it will be an incredible journey. Trust me. It will be mind-blowing.

Which volume of work is the closest to your heart?
I will say Crossroads to Freedom. This is the first non-fiction book I wrote on the Christian faith. I wrote it not long after finding my journey with God. It is a simple book. Nothing fancy. It doesn’t go too deep into theology or doctrines. It is a book about finding God, choosing Him, and walking the path He offers. It is a path of liberty, of truth, of healing, and blessing. I loved writing this book because our walk with God should be simple and not complicated. Just enjoy His companionship. And listen to God. And speak to Him. He is amazing and is a personal God.

What are you working on next?

My next book focuses on powerful and effective worship

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
My first story was fiction. I wrote a lot of fiction before finding the Faith and writing teaching material on Christianity. During my days in school, I wrote all kinds of stories, from vampires to pirates. Such days are long gone, but I’m hoping one day to embark on a Christian novel.

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Writing is always a journey – and such a journey is wonderful, glorious, and breathtaking. It is a therapeutic in its design and process for you enter your own inner courts of creativity. It is also a journey of knowledge and of artistic expression.

What is your writing process?

With non-fiction or fiction, the process is always the same. You throw a lot of thoughts and ideas on the page. It doesn’t always make sense, but then you begin to rearrange, define, refine, and organise. You then begin to omit and add, and then eventually, like a cosmetic surgeon, make something beautiful and meaningful out of the mess.

What is your message for aspiring authors?

Write. Continue to write no matter what. Writing should be about yourself and how to express yourself. You should have no fear when writing. Do not even wonder how many people will read your work. Just enjoy it. And remember, your writing will never be perfect the first or second of third draft. So push on, and in the process laugh, be merry, do not judge yourself too harshly and create your world.
